Research on the main trends in civil society in Ukraine shows that over the period since Ukraine gained independence, Ukrainian civil society has acquired a new quality. The main trends in its development, as practice shows, continued in 2021, as discussed below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Civil society organizations have significantly increased their institutional sustainability and capacity. In the thirty years since Ukraine gained independence, CSOs in Ukraine have come a long way in their formation and development: from initiative groups of citizens to sustainable institutions. Today, CSOs are able to adapt and respond to any crisis, develop cross-sectoral cooperation with the government and business, engage the general public, create a new quality of social services and drive important social innovations. To a large extent, the high level of institutional capacity of CSOs was facilitated by the state’s targeted policy of supporting the development of civil society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
