In 1945, Germany lost World War II and found itself in ruins and isolation, divided into four zones between the victors. However, thanks in large part to the Marshall Plan and Western governments, part of Germany has already embarked on the path of democracy and economic growth. The emphasis on budgetary discipline and attention to investing in people quickly created favorable conditions for the country’s recovery and the “economic miracle.” Today, Germany is one of the leading economies in Europe, its territory is no longer divided, and its population enjoys a decent standard of living.
