During the twentieth century, Finland survived three wars, lost 12% of its territory, and was forced to pay reparations to the country that waged war on the Finns and had to give up Marshall Plan money. Today, however, Finland is a welfare state with an innovative economy, one of the best education systems in the world, and a high level of democracy, civil liberties, and quality of life. The story of Finland’s heroic resistance to a totalitarian giant provides us with some important lessons on how Ukraine can survive, win and revive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
