What the World is Facing in 2023. Economic Prospects for Ukraine’s Recovery

The answer to the question about Ukraine’s economic problems in recent decades seems clear: the limited ability of the country’s political elite (of virtually any party affiliation) to consistently implement decisions in the country’s interests, and the concern for their own political and economic interests.

Instead of consistently building a welfare state (which was hoped for at the dawn of independence), the government is constantly having to overcome the problems it provokes. Obviously, the reasons should be sought deeper than the inability of the Ukrainian Parliament to pass the “right” laws or the slowness of the Government to implement them. A number of peculiarities of the government’s behavior in the economic sphere (which already have a negative “tradition”) hinder the transformations in which both Ukrainian business and Ukraine’s international partners would be interested.
