Public procurement can be strategically used to achieve long-term environmental, social and economic goals. Policies should reflect a strategic approach and create incentives for public authorities and suppliers to engage in sustainable procurement. Implementation of sustainable and fair procurement policies will be necessary in the context of effective reconstruction to attract appropriate international assistance and improve the business environment, innovation, social inclusion and recovery of affected industrial sectors in a climate-friendly manner. It is also important that support for reconstruction is aligned with Ukraine’s EU integration process, adhering to EU procurement principles and standards.
