Financial Mechanisms for the Green Reconstruction of Ukraine to be More Attractive for European Banks and Investors

The post-war recovery of Ukraine’s energy sector must go hand in hand with the broader rebuilding of the national economy based on sustainable development, decarbonization, and high energy efficiency criteria.

To succeed, Ukraine must effectively mobilize domestic potential and support from partner countries. Investors from these countries will consider Ukraine attractive after adopting a clear long-term decarbonization policy in line with the European Green Deal, transparent and equal access to auctions for permits and licenses for the construction and operation of energy infrastructure facilities in the national energy market, as well as effective mechanisms to protect investments from war damage and raiding.
