Today, one of the “Asian tigers” of 70 years ago lies in ruins after a three-year war with North Korea. Despite support from the United States and its allies, South Korea lost more than 80% of its industrial and transportation infrastructure in the war. Today, South Korea is one of the ten countries with the highest share of global GDP, has an exemplary education system and advanced technologies. In this article, we have explored the country’s path from post-war devastation to a successful and promising state.
